About Us

Hi, I'm Nadia — welcome to Baby Age

Baby Age started the way most good stories do: with a problem I couldn't stop thinking about.

I'm a mum of three, and every time a friend had a baby, I found myself standing in front of the same shelves of the same generic gifts — the same swaddles, the same "Baby's First" onesies, the same nappies dressed up in a basket and called a present. Nothing felt like me, and nothing felt like them. I wanted to give something that made new parents stop, smile, and actually well up a little — not something that ended up shoved in a drawer.

So I started making my own.

From my sewing table to a small workshop in Perth

What began as personalised keepsakes for my own kids and gifts for close friends slowly turned into Baby Age — a small, family-run workshop right here in Perth, Western Australia. I still do the embroidery myself, hand-select every garment that comes through our doors, and personally check every single order before it's packed. Nothing goes out unless I'd be proud to hand it to a friend myself.

That's really the whole philosophy behind Baby Age: handmade baby gifts in Perth, created by someone who's actually lived the "what on earth do I buy them" moment — over and over again, three times over. Today that means personalised baby blankets, soft toys, and gift hampers — the kind of pieces I always wished existed when I was gift-shopping myself.

Why handmade and personalised matters to me

Anyone can buy a plain onesie. What makes a gift unforgettable is the bit that makes it theirs — a name stitched by hand, a design picked specifically for that baby, a little extra thought that says "I know you, and I'm so happy for you." That's the wow-factor I always wished I could find on the shelf, and it's what I set out to build with every piece we make.

Every item is personalised and made in Australia, designed and crafted in-house rather than mass produced overseas — from our signature personalised blankets and soft toys through to fully put-together baby gift hampers for when you want something ready to hand over, wow-factor included.

Why we're online-only (for now)

A few people ask if they can pop into the workshop, and I totally get it — but here's the honest answer: I'm a mum running this business around school drop-offs, sick days, and everything else that comes with raising three kids. My "opening hours" change depending on the week, so rather than post a shopfront sign and disappoint someone who's driven over on a day I'm elbow-deep in orders or at a school assembly, I've kept Baby Age online-only. It means every order gets my full attention, on my terms, without compromising on quality or turnaround.

That said, Baby Age has grown far beyond what I imagined when I started at my sewing table, and a proper Perth shopfront is something I'm genuinely starting to consider for the future — a space where you could come in, feel the fabrics, and see the embroidery up close. Watch this space.

Comfort, style, and a little bit of magic

Our collection blends comfort with contemporary style — bold, simple designs that don't try too hard, made from quality basics we've picked ourselves. Each piece is finished with love, so it feels like a proper keepsake rather than just another baby gift.

If you're stuck on what to get, or just want something with a bit more heart in it, have a browse — I think you'll find something special. And if you ever want a hand choosing the right gift, drop me a line through the contact form. I read every message myself.

Thank you for supporting a small Perth business — it means more than you know.

With love, from my workshop to your gift box,

Nadia & The Baby Age Team
